Coassemble is WCAG 2.2 Level AA Conformant

Coassemble has been awarded a Statement of Conformance for WCAG 2.2 Level AA, independently verified by digital accessibility specialists Modality Co. All 56 success criteria across 13 guidelines have been met at both Level A and Level AA.

Because your platform uses the Coassemble learner experience, this conformance extends to you. The course-taking experience embedded in your platform meets the current international standard for web accessibility.

What does this mean for your platform?

Your customers' learners, including people with disability, can expect a high standard of accessibility when completing training through your platform. Specifically:

  • Screen reader users (using tools like JAWS or NVDA) can navigate and complete courses effectively.

  • Learners who rely on keyboard-only navigation are fully supported.

  • Content remains accessible for users who resize text in their browser or use Windows High Contrast Mode.

This conformance applies to the Coassemble learner experience embedded within your platform. You can reference the Statement of Conformance in your own customer-facing documentation, procurement responses, or compliance reporting.

How was conformance assessed?

Modality Co conducted the assessment in accordance with the Web Content Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM 1.0) — the standard process required for any valid WCAG conformance claim.

The assessment involved multiple rounds of accessibility testing focused on:

  • Chromium-based web browsers

  • JAWS and NVDA screen readers

  • Browser text resizing

  • Windows High Contrast Mode

The evaluation was signed off by Matthew Putland (Digital Accessibility Specialist) and Rosie Putland (Principal Accessibility Specialist) at Modality Co.

What this conformance does and does not cover

It's important to understand the scope of this conformance when communicating it to your customers.

The Statement of Conformance covers the technical learner experience — the platform that delivers courses. It does not cover the content inside those courses.

The accessibility of course content is the responsibility of the course creator. This means your customers need to ensure their courses are built accessibly, using things like alt text for images, clear heading structure, and good colour contrast. We recommend sharing our accessible course creation guide with your customers so they can take full advantage of the accessible foundation Coassemble provides.

We're committed to maintaining accessibility

Reaching WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance is a significant milestone, but accessibility is an ongoing commitment. We'll continue testing and improving Coassemble to maintain conformance over time.
